A Weekend with the Dallas Brass
This past weekend, I had the distinct and fortunate pleasure of working with the Dallas Brass here at the University of Dubuque. This brass quintet has toured for 30 years and still marveling crowds with great programming and virtuosic technique. The UD Wind Ensemble was a featured guest on their concert, which was a treat enjoyed by all students. I'm still reeling from that moment.
After the concert, I had the chance to hang with them in a more informal setting, and let me say they are some really awesome individuals. In addition to them being very knowledgable about music, I found out that we had many shared college experiences and just an enjoyment of "normal" things. They are very down to earth people and just great to be around, and my students enjoyed every minute of working with them this weekend.
